Kulungi has a great sense of self and art. Coming from a very humble background while growing up in the neigborhoods of Kampala, he had all his education in Uganda and practiced art from child. Kalungi also gone through formal art training at Magaret Trowel School of Art at Makerere University even though due to unbearable circumstances, hhe was not able to complete his arts program. Now Kalungi works as fulltime artist at Ivuka Arts studios Kigali and acts a leader at the center.
