Born in  Kampla, Uganda 1983 and came to Rwanda with his family that was returning from Uganda where they sought refuge since 1950s.

Now Karekezi lives in Kigali and a very active member at Ivuka Arts Kigali where he has participated in different local works hops and group exhibitions. On top of all his personal achievments while he pursues his long term careers as a visual artist, Karekezi also represented Rwanda at Comite d’oganasition des viemes jeux la francophone that was held in Beirut, Lebanon September 2009.
